The Wolfman Proves Food is Art

February 28, 2013

GMIST was recently very fortunate to partner with celebrity chef David Wolfman and his wife Marlene Finn to work with Bear River First Nations in Nova Scotia to deliver a two day Aboriginal Experiential Tourism Program.  Over the course of the two days David and Marlene were able to facilitate discussions around how the community could share its many hidden gems with visitors to the region.  Through a combination of story telling, class exercises and sharing of life experiences David and Marlene helped the community realize the importance of believing in themselves and sharing their passion with visitors who crave authentic cultural based experiences.  We were also very lucky to get a small taste of Davids Passion as a Chef as he shared  some of his signature food carvings – proving that food can be both nutritious and artful.    Special thanks to the community of Bear River First Nations for the great support and also to the NS Department of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism.
