International Summit on Sustainable Tourism
September 10, 2013
Come and join with participants from Europe, USA and Canada in a conference designed to provide you with a “crash course” on what a UN Report has called “the major tourism growth opportunity for the next two decades”.
The event will take place in Brockville, Ontario, Canada on October 19th, 2013 in the Thousand Islands Region of the St Lawrence River.
A variety of speakers with extensive national and international experience in Sustainable Tourism will interact with participants to provide essential information on accessing this substantial market opportunity, the potential cost savings of sustainability, and how your tourism destination can become more competitive and successful.
Pilot projects being undertaken by 5 Canadian UNESCO Biosphere Reserves will be discussed and the opportunities and challenges will be explored with tourism industry participants in workshop sessions.
Fall colours will be at their prime in this beautiful region which includes two UNESCO designations – the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve, and the Rideau Canal World Heritage Site. It also became the location of the 9th National Geographic Geotourism Charter signed in 2010 by the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve, your conference organizer and host.
The conference location is midway between Toronto and Montreal and there is good airline access through Ottawa International Airport and Syracuse Hancock International Airport.
