GMIST is excited to be working with Festivals & Events Ontario (FEO) again this winter to offer two great FREE webinars to help festival & events managers, organizers and developers prepare for the 2023 season. These 60 minute sessions with industry experts are designed to provide you with insights and helpful tools whether you are just starting out or are a well established event. You can sign up for one or both sessions at no cost to you. Sessions will also be recorded for future reference or for sharing with your colleagues.

Fundraising can be a challenge for festivals and events, especially finding ways to fundraise that are unique, do not take too much time and have a good return on investment. This webinar will feature two technology companies who are offering some unique options for fundraising. Simon Cusack will talk about how Rafflebox Technologies can help you to raise funds for your event using online and in-person raffles and Mark Jordan will share information about tiptap, a cash-free fundraising and payment solution for charities, non-profits and other sectors that have been hurt by the continued disappearance of cash.
Simon Cusack is the Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer for Rafflebox Technologies. He is an accomplished information technology professional with 20 years experience in networking, LAN/WAN, project management, business analysis, business processes, and system administration. Simon has held various roles in the Information Technology field, in industries such as telecom, military, oil and gas, and mining. His professional experience includes 4.5 years in Afghanistan where he worked as a contractor for various military groups. Simon is currently responsible for the day-to-day operations at Rafflebox, managing sales and support. He is passionate about tech, community and all things sports.
Mark Jordan leads the community engagement sector at tiptap. Mark works with organizations who are working in and giving back to maximize their impact in their local communities using touchless giving™ and touchless payments™. Mark is a purpose-driven leader with over 25 years of experience in the agency, corporate and not-for-profit space. Mark has led market-leading work for organizations including SickKids, Kids Help Phone, Kraft North America, and Rogers Communications. The one thing that has been consistent in Mark’s career is his passion to give back and help others.

She is a Certified Festivals and Events Expert and Certified Tourism Industry Specialist with 25+ years accumulated experience in delivering excellent customer service, fundraising, grant writing, managing small- and large-scale festivals and events. With extensive volunteer development experience, department and event budgeting, administration, media relations (including marketing tourism and events regionally, provincially, and nationally). Marnie is also the President of the Timmins Multicultural Society and Chair of the Timmins Multicultural Festival.
